Cosmolot, Ukraine’s first licensed online gambling platform, was established by Spacesiks LLC and has since become a trailblazer in the country’s gaming sector. In February 2021, Cosmolot made history by becoming the first company to receive a Ukrainian gambling license, a milestone that helped legitimize and stabilize the nation’s gaming industry. Leveraging its strong market position, Cosmolot rapidly gained traction and became one of Ukraine’s largest tax contributors, generating over UAH 3.5 billion (approx. US$85 million) for the economy in 2023. The Nevada Gaming Holding Acquisition
In October 2024, NGH acquired a majority stake in Cosmolot, a strategic move aimed at both expanding NGH’s portfolio and supporting Ukraine’s economic recovery. Initiated through discussions at the Munich Security Conference in early 2024, the acquisition was finalized with the objective of elevating Cosmolot’s operations and setting a benchmark for regulated gaming in emerging markets. “Since the onset of conflict, I’ve supported Ukraine on multiple fronts. With Cosmolot, we aim to make a meaningful, structured impact,” noted Arnulf Damerau, NGH’s President & CEO. This investment not only reinforces NGH’s commitment to impact-driven investing but also demonstrates its confidence in Ukraine’s market potential.
Impact and Economic Contribution
Cosmolot’s role in Ukraine’s economy extends beyond tax revenue. The platform actively contributes to social projects and supports Ukraine’s largest defense technology accelerator, BraveInventors, which plays a critical role in developing defense innovations.
